Antique Homer Laughlin Select Semi Vitreous China Gravy Boat

Bearing the back stamp - Select Semi-Vitreous China - and dating to the early 1900's this simple yet elegant antique gravy boat was part of dozens of china pieces and patterns made under the Homer Laughlin brand that went unmarked with the official HL logo.
It was originally used for serving sauces, gravy and dressings in the traditional manner. But, think outside the boat, and you'll discover a bevy of other use possibilities.
- pedestal shape
- strong handle
- light crazing
There is a small interior chip near the spout of the gravy boat. This mark does not affect the use, ability or functionality of the gravy boat. Instead, it adds a new (old) level of character this century-year-old piece.
9 1/2" inches (length) x 3" inches (width) x 5" inches (height at handle).
Classic in every way the use for gravy boats goes way beyond its traditional use. Stylish and eclectic decorating calls it into service as a planter for succulents, a catch-all for small kitchen odds and ends, a centerpiece container for impromptu floral bouquets... the ideas go on and on!
