{HISTORY}

Life gets a little bit sweeter when you add two large antique sugar jars to the mix.

These two are made of porcelain and although they are unmarked they are of French origin in the Haviland Limoges style with gold leaves on the handles and lids and a big berry-shaped knob on each.

The epitome of form and function, these classic white jars measure 7" inches in height making them perfect for use as kitchen canisters for tea, coffee, baking essentials or pretty storage for pet treats.  Remove the lids and they serve as vases too. 

At first glance, you'd assume these two might be twins, but they actually have slight variations between the two. One jar is 5 oz heavier than the other and a little bit thicker-walled. One lid has leaves outlined in gold and the other lid has leaves completely painted in gold (although fairly worn away by time). And finally, one lid has a thick gold stripe around its rim and the other lid a thin gold stripe. 

Differences aside, these two are just absolute beauties, with an old Paris aesthetic and a billowy shape. They look stunning when paired with other gold and white dishes.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful antique condition, these two jars contain no chips, cracks, spots or staining except for one chip on the lid of one jar that measures 1/2" inch in length (please see photo). The gold detailing on both jars is wearing in spots adding lovely, authentically aged character and Parisian shabby chic charm. Please see photos.

Each jar measures 7' inches in height (base to lid) x 6" inches (at widest) part) with 3.5" inch diameter openings. Together, both jars weigh 3 lbs,
