Antique Cast Iron Bird Bath Feeder Tray
{HISTORY}
A delight for your feathered friends, this long and narrow antique cast iron bird bath feeder tray is just the right size for balcony gardens, railings, window ledges, patios, porches or any other little nooks tucked into your landscape that might enthrall a bird to stop and take a dip or enjoy a seed or two.
Offering just the right depth (1.5" inches) for a plunge, this versatile tray can be filled with water and act as a bird bath or filled with up to four cups of bird seed for a tabletop style buffet. Either way, it's a wonderful haven and a helper for the winged wildlife in your garden.
Long and narrow like a lap pool, this tray measures 18.5" inches (from handle to handle) x 5" inches in width and weighs a hefty 6.5 lbs. That's an ideal weight so that it won't get knocked over in the wind or tipped over by an enthusiastic squirrel anxious to share in the snacks.
With classic character and lots of rustic charm, this tray, of course, doesn’t just have to be for the birds. It also makes a lovely garden tray for mini potted plants, and a unique table centerpiece holder for candles, decorative decor, and flower arrangements too.
Unmarked as to maker or manufacturer, possibly this one came from Europe, with its French-style flared handles. At one point, it may have held a cast-iron bird or two in the center on one side, as there are two holes drilled along the rim that would have held them in place.
With the ability to travel through each season, this tray is sturdy enough to leave outside the whole year round, and if you choose to incorporate it into your table decor, it inspires a range of rotating seasonal styling based on the day and the dinner party.
