{HISTORY}

Oh the joy of the vintage Wear-Ever aluminum coffee pot! Made for people with easy-going attitudes and free spirit lifestyles, this vintage coffee pot holds up to its name both literally and figuratively. Whether you are making a perfect pot of coffee at home or on the road, this little charmer delights all the senses.

Made by ALCOA for their Wear-Ever, brand in the 1940s, it features a glass percolator knob, a sturdy handle, and all the interior basket accessories to brew a delicious pot (or two!) of coffee.

Wear-Ever's roots date all the way back to Ohio in the late 1800s, the brainchild of an intrepid chemistry student/inventor who discovered a way to smelt aluminum using an inexpensive process. Teaming up with a French chemist who was also trying to experiment with a similar idea, these two tinkerers would wind up singlehandedly and successfully changing the way aluminum goods were made using their unique process. A company grew and then expanded. Research continued. Discoveries were made. As time went by ALCOA aluminum found its way into all aspects of 20th-century life. From tin foil to aeronautical components, building materials to household goods, ALCOA  and the Wear-Ever brand were at the forefront of innovation, creating streamlined processes that all aluminum companies still use and rely upon today.

Hard to find, these days, this Wear-Ever coffee pot is model No. X-3004. In practically brand new condition, it's a beauty of a coffee pot with its A-line shape and artistically designed glass knob and handle. Stylish in both form and function it's a wonderful example of American innovation, art and 1940s kitchenware.
