{HISTORY}

Few things boast immediate style and culinary prowess in the kitchen more than a copper pot rack filled with hanging pots, pans, and utensils. Pretty, functional and shimmery, racks that hang from the ceiling with warm and rosy cooking equipment included, catch the sun, moonlight and lamplight from all directions acting like an additional source of light day or night. They also keep equipment close at hand and they free up storage space under counters and sinks. In other words, it's a win in all ways as far as style, ease and practicality.

This set of four copper cooking utensils was made to hang on such a helpful rack. Containing a ladle, a pot skimmer, a spatula and a fork these utensils feature long, twisted brass handles that curve at the end into sturdy hooks. Shiny and bright, these copper utensils have been beautifully cared for and retain a bright and shiny appearance along with just the slightest hints of tarnish to give each piece unique character.

Unmarked as to maker or manufacture, we suspect this set was made in North Korea around the mid-to late 19th century. But for all it lacks in the way of maker identity it more than makes up for in story.  This pot came from the country kitchen of a prolific Southern baker/folk artist, who was not only a creative home cook but also a professional freelance cake decorator from the 1950s-1980s.

Strong, sturdy and shiny, whether you choose to cook with them or add them to your decor, these classic pieces of the copper kitchen radiate decades of history and culinary joy lovingly passed along from one cook to another.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition. Shiny and bright throughout, this set has been well cared for over its long life. As with all vintage copper, each piece contains some light tarnish and or darkened age spots due to age and use which enhances its lovely appearance.  The handles are very securely attached. The hooks are deep to allow for a multitude of different style hangers whether you choose to go with a traditional copper hanger or a different style altogether. Please see photos.
