Vintage Johnson Bros Sheraton Dinner Plate circa 1944-1980
{HISTORY}
Made in England beginning in 1944, Johnson Brothers' Sheraton pattern features a gorgeous big and blousy bouquet of hand-colored flowers. Debuting during WWII, this floral abundance was meant to symbolize resilience in nature and the comfort of tradition - two notions that would lend a calming aesthetic to the kitchen and the dining table during a chaotic time in world history.
In manufacture through 1980, symbolism aside, it's easy to see why this was such a popular choice worthy of an almost forty-year production run. Artistic, dramatic, and finely detailed, Sheraton is a veritable garden party on a plate.
Containing a hand-decorated, full plate bouquet with a scalloped rim and an embossed shape, this dinner plate is a work of art just as much as a functional dinner plate. Colors include periwinkle, raspberry, pale lemon, mint green, smoky plum, blush, espresso, sage, lavender, and pale pumpkin - a winning combination of delicate hues to set the tone of your table for the spring and summer months.
{SPECIAL FEATURES}

{CONDITION}
In lovely vintage condition, this plate contains no chips or cracks. The paint colors are bright and vibrant and the details in the floral bouquet are crisp and clear. There's a small light grey mark that measures 1/2" inch near the rim on the front. The mark is under the glaze and possibly represents an errant stroke from a paintbrush. Please see photos.
