{HISTORY}

Designed by Mottahedeh and made in Italy, it contains wonderful character with its chippy paint and yellow forget-me-not floral botanical painting. Large enough to accommodate old love letters yet slim enough to easily fit onto a shelf or in a drawer, this box holds lots of opportunity in the function department.

Mottahedeh began in the early decades of the 20th century as an import and design business, started by one couple rich in love and creativity. Many of their collections for dishware and artistic home decorations are reproductions of antique patterns and designs from major museums and historic houses around the United States like Mount Vernon, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Monticello. Known for their beautiful designs and excellent quality, Mottahedeh pieces marry beautiful ancient art with elegant craftsmanship in unique pieces making them true works of art in and of themselves.
