Vintage French Cut Glass Crystal Water Goblets - Set of Four circa 1960s-1980s
{HISTORY}
Architectural, elegant and beautifully made, this set of four vintage crystal water goblets was made by Arc International in Northern France between the 1960s-1980s. That's when the company was known as Cristal d'Arques and considered a pioneer in their industry thanks to their innovations in the automatic manufacturing of crystal stemware.
But the company's history goes back even further - to 1825 - when it was first founded as a small family-owned business. Two hundred years later, Arc International is still going strong and has become the largest glassware manufacturer in the world.
Reminiscent of the design of cable-stayed bridges, the pattern on this set of glassware is called Combourg. Perhaps named after the French town known as the "Cradle of Romanticism," it's just the kind of interesting storytelling detail that you'd want to include at your next dinner party.
Still containing their original stickers, these four look practically brand new. While they may have decades of partying to make up for, they aren't fussy when it comes to beverage choices. Although they are technically considered water goblets, we see absolutely nothing wrong with using them as wine and cocktail glasses too. The more spirit-rallying libations the better.
