{HISTORY}

Prolific, abundantly flowered and easy to care for, impatiens have long been a favorite of the shade garden. Stemming from the Latin word impatient, they actually symbolize maternal love but are also known by a couple of fun nicknames - Busy Lizzy and Lady's Earrings, thanks to their ability to produce a beautiful mess of delicate blooms throughout the growing season. 

This vintage acrylic painting captures the impatiens wonderful way of spreading out into the world with long leggy stems that will extend as far as you let them. Although unsigned by the artist, this is quite a pretty little painting full of interesting character and detail. It's soft plum grey background and bright green leaves add a nice contrast, allowing the palate to coordinate with quite a few interior decor color schemes. This painting looks great with purples, greens, grays, yellow, white and even pale blue thanks to hints of each color within the image. 

A unique touch on the back of the painting features handwritten notations on the colors of paint used within the still life.
