Beauty is in the details when it comes to this set of four vintage linen napkins. With a scalloped edge and embroidered design, they feature swags of broderie-style eyelet flowers and a delicate circle of french knots. The ring of French knots might have served as a monogrammed "O" or a stylized blank space where an initial might have been added for extra personalization.

Adding just the right amount of elegance to mealtime with their classic all-white go-with-anything palette they offer universal appeal for year-round tablescape design and a bevy of decorating options.

Made of linen, soft and drapey and sized for luncheon use, which is a few inches smaller than traditional dinner napkins but larger than cocktail napkins, these were perfect additions to 20th-century tables set for afternoon parties, club meetings, and coffee and tea get-togethers.  It is fun to imagine, ladies with their gloved hands and elegant teacups sipping away stories of the day, welcoming new babies at a shower or congratulating a soon-to-be bride on her upcoming wedding. These napkins were privy to such a wealth of celebrations and stories. How lovely!
