{HISTORY}

There is no shortage to the vintage embroidered linen but one thing that gets often overlooked is the spirit of the sewer and the artistic style she brought to her cotton canvas. This sewer in particular loved color and was an expert in flower and leaf design. She also knew how to place her stitches for maximum effect, so that her flowers turned into graduating color wheels and her thread accented the unusual shape of the cloth.

Containing a basket of blooms with falling leaves scattered around the bottom border, this cloth is edged in cotton crocheted lace and features a unique square shape with a scalloped curve on one side. Perhaps our sewer had an ideal purpose in mind for this particular piece - a shelf liner or a tea tray cloth, which are still perfect purposes, but there are lots of additional ways to utilize this petite cloth now too. One of our favorites in the Kitchen is to use it as a pot holder, folded up in half and then folded again. It is also a fun piece for a bigger sewing project  like making your own pillows for your breakfast nook, an apron for your little kitchen helper or a handmade market bag made out of vintage fabrics.
