Vintage Egg-Shaped Red & White Salt & Pepper Shakers
A poet could write volumes about diners, because they are so beautiful. They are brightly lit with chrome and booths and Naugahyde and great waitresses. David Lynch
{HISTORY}
These vintage salt and pepper shakers aren't necessarily straight from a vintage diner but they do look especially great with vintage restaurant ware. That's because they are classic, clean and egg-shaped - all shapes and style that are often associated with the American diner. They match the oval shapes of restaurant plate platters and the rounded edges that exemplify 1950's design.
The embossed S & P on the shakers has been highlighted with red paint which has worn in some places giving these guys a hint of vintage patina. Their thin plastic stoppers keep all the spice bits in place. Unmarked as far as maker or manufacturer we can only guess as to their specific midcentury adventures, but that's okay. They leave plenty of room for speculation and conversation along with your morning cup of joe and your eggs over easy.

{CONDITION}
Bright and shiny, these guys are in great shape. There is a light hairline crack that runs down one side of the pepper shaker (please see photos) but it is barely noticeable due to the rounding of the sides and does not affect the ability to use the shaker nor threaten its constitution in any way.
{SIZE}
Each shaker measures 2.5" inches (height) x 1.5" inches (diameter).
{STYLE IDEA}
These guys look especially great with vintage restaurantware and red and white dishware.
