{HISTORY}

For many people around the world, the holidays aren't complete unless a Collin Street Bakery fruit cake is on the table! Founded in 1896 by German immigrant, August Weiderman, Collin Street Bakery, from the beginning focused on making sweet treats with the best available ingredients. It wasn't long after he arrived in Corsicana that August's dedicated love of baking and his delicious fruit cake quickly began to attract local attention amongst his 19th-century neighbors.

With the help of an energetic salesman, by the turn of the 1900s, August's fruitcakes and the Collin Street Bakery name began garnering attention from other Texas cities. That interest, in turn, broadened out to all four corners of the state, and then the region and then the country.  By the late 20th century the Collin Street Bakery brand and their now-famously beloved fruit cake is known around the world, with the bakery shipping to every country on the globe except for Cuba and Iran. A staple of holiday entertaining for two centuries now, their fruit cake has always been packaged in decorative tins. Changing in design over the years due to buyer preference and artistic contributions of in-house designers, the Collin Street Bakery fruit cake tins of past and present are just as adored as the fruit cake themselves. 

This vintage DeLuxe tin features cross stitch flowers in a lovely array of Autumn colors. Bright and clean, it is an attractive container for holiday baking and gift-giving as well as a handy storage organizer for kitchen odds and ends.

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition. Overall, clean and shiny both inside and out. There is some light, minor rust on the inside rim of the base as expected with vintage tins.  The lid fits securely on base.
