{HISTORY}

If we could make up any story about the history of this creamer we'd like to imagine that it once lived in an Irish village, in a house with a thatched roof, and a red front door, and a dairy cow out in the yard. That dairy cow, whose name would be Bess or Daisy or Doe would supply the fresh milk for the household each day and the cream for every morning's coffee and tea. That cream, thick, buttery, and slippery smooth like silk,  would be served here in this pretty floral pitcher with the emerald green cabbage roses and the grey-green leaves.  The owner of this fine farm would be a woman named Mary Frances Ferguson who had bright red hair like her painted door, and Bess or Daisy or Doe would be her cow, and this was would be her slice of life and the creamer, her treasured routine. 

Not every serving piece comes with maker's marks and manufacturing details that point to an origin story ready to be told. These mysteries of history turn out to be the fanciful storytellers of speculative time travel. We find that these pieces speak to everybody in a different way, so you may look at this petite creamer and imagine something totally different about its past life. That's the beauty of the unmarked and the meanderings of mind and mood.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Shiny glaze and very clean interior. While there is no maker's mark or manufacturing stamp, there are the letters M.F. scratched into the clay underneath the glaze on the bottom of the vessel.
