{HISTORY}

Back in the early decades of the 20th century, if you wanted to can some fruits and vegetables from your garden harvest, most likely you pulled out your Hazel Atlas canning jars. Available in a variety of sizes from small to large, Hazel Atlas was one of the leading glass companies in America. The merging of two reputable companies, Hazel Glass and Atlas Glass, Hazel Atlas was based in Washington, Pennsylvania, and manufactured all sorts of glass items from 1902 to 1964.

This batch of Hazel Atlas jars (15 in total) contain quart and pint sizes and feature the lightening jar lid and the E-Z Seal design,  which made it easy (lightning fast!) to close and seal each jar with just a flip of the bail wire. Made between the 1920s-1930s, each one has its own little personality, whether it contains a few bubbles in the glass or a little ripple in the body shape, they are spirits from the kitchens past that add an authentic bit of history to your contemporary cook space.

So fun for storage, pantry organization, or display, vintage glass jars look so stylish in kitchens with open shelving. They also make really pretty table centerpieces since they offer all sorts of possibilities in the decorating department. 

These jars are all in great shape, but some have a few minor scratches or oxidation that happens with age. When adding these to your cart please select from the drop-down menu, which type of jar you prefer (no scratches, with scratches, with oxidization.) The jars with oxidization and scratches are reduced slightly in price. 

One of the pint jars is made of very pale green glass, which is most noticeable when the jar is held at an angle or looking down upon it. Looking straight on the jar almost looks clear. Please see photos.

{CONDITION}

Each jar is in lovely vintage (antique) condition There are no chips or cracks on any of the jars. Please note condition issues in the history section above.  The bail wire is in working condition on all jars with just a minimal amount of rust. 

{SIZE}

Each quart jar measures 7.5" inches (height) x 3.75" inches (diameter) and weighs between 1.3lbs and 1.6lbs

Each pint jar measure 5.5" inches (height x 3.25" inch (diameter). Each jar weighs 14 oz.
