{HISTORY}

In the 1960's,  the florist trade fell in love with a new planter design. It was called Floraline and it was made by McCoy Pottery. Stylishly mod, it featured a lazy, loopy design and was washed in a gorgeous shade of green, like a lime rind and flecked with dark brown speckles. Part of McCoy's #506 pottery mold, it came in a variety of colors including white and yellow too. 

By the 1970's, when this Floraline planter was born, it was made by Lancaster Colony Coprporation (also known as LCC) who purchased McCoy Pottery  in 1974. They continued to make the Floraline 506 series but it changed in a little bit in design in a few minor ways. First of all, the 1970's version was slightly smaller (a 1/2" inch shorter in height). The latter version also did not include the brown speckles that were part of the 60's version. The glaze in the 1970's was much shinier and a bit darker in color. And finally the name Floraline and the LCC stamp are proudly displayed on the 1970's version. For all the collectors of McCoy Pottery, these are fun details that help tell the story of a beloved manufacturer and its journey through two centuries.

{CONDITION}

In absolutely beautiful vintage condition. Shiny glaze. Very clean interior. No chips or cracks except one that occurred in the manufacturing process on the underside of the rim, which was covered over with additional glaze. There is also one small chip on the base of the planter next to the F in Floraline, which does not affect the use of the planter in any way. Please see photo
