Love birds for your love nest!

Indoors or out, this 1970s Burwood Products wall shelf is the perfect size to add some useful dimension to your space. Wide enough (3.5") to hold a potted plant, a vase of flowers, candles or a lantern or whatever else you have in mind, we love these two mourning doves best as wall art on a porch, fence or garden shed, or in a mud room or a sunroom. But really they are sweet symbols of love and devotion for any place you'd like to add a little extra delight. 

Made of a very durable, thick plastic and wood composite material that Burwood became famous for, at first in their home state of Michigan, and then eventually around the world, vintage Burwood pieces are prized for their highly detailed and lifelike sculptured art. 

Burwood pieces take spray paint well, so if you wanted to change the color of this self from its original ivory color to suit your decor, there are a lot of styling possibilities. There is so much definition in the feathers and wood branch that the birds are sitting on, that if you painted it grey, for example,  it would mirror stone and you'd be hard-pressed to tell that it was made of a more plastic-like material. 

Burwood ceased operation in the late 1990s but this pair of 45-year-old love birds with their sweet expression and cuddly nature will continue to live (and love) for decades.

{CONDITION}

This little shelf has seen some adventure in its day but overall it is in lovely, fully functional shape. It Comes ready to hang with hardware already attached. There are a few errant light staining marks (from sun tanning and age) in some areas that can only bee seen upon close inspection and there is a small nick that measures (1/4" inch) on the front lip of the shelf.  Please see photos.
