{HISTORY}

In the early 1950s, Universal Pottery introduced their Ballerina line - a graceful, elegant dishware collection that came in a variety of designer solids and florals so that buyers could mix and match pieces with ease and confidence.  

Made in Cambridge, Ohio the Ballerinas were a beautiful addition to the kitchen.  Offering fade-proof designs thanks to their Permacel glazing, this special glaze technique meant that designs would never wash away or fade or scratch off with frequent use. True to their nature, these Permacel dishes have withstood the test of time with aplomb - making them look practically as brand new today as the day they were first purchased over seventy years ago.

This set of four matching dinner plates features the Moss Rose pattern with an interesting back shadow effect and a complementary blend of pink, green, and grey colors. The Moss Rose pattern came in two different types of design - one with a silver (also known as platinum) rim and the other without. This batch features the silver rim.

So pretty for summer garden parties, wedding receptions and year-round everblooming bouquets in the kitchen!
