{HISTORY}

Made in the 1950s in England, under the Crown Ducal label, this matching set of small plates contains all the pretty shades of Autumn. Part of the hard-to-find Festival pattern they contain swags of lemons, berries, pears, and leaves. It's an unusual assortment of fruits that you don't see every day along with a color palette that is both neutral and visually interesting all at once. 

If we were to take this Festival pattern name literally, you could easily imagine this batch at a renaissance fair feast or a medieval banquet stretched out on long tables over a long day. But they also make lovely plates for the mismatched Thanksgiving table or for hors d'oeuvre passing during an intimate party. There are three plates of each size in the bread & butter and salad shapes - six plates in total - yielding all sorts of possibilities when it comes to food styling, presentation, or adding to your existing collection. 

Containing the shades mint green, lemon yellow, raspberry, brown, beige, walnut, and teal this batch looks especially at home with antique transferware, creamy ironstone, or a mix and match of Fall-hued serving pieces.

{CONDITION}

All plates are in lovely vintage condition. No chips or cracks, except for one small chip on one bread and butter plate (which measures 1/4" inch in length. Please see photo.

The salad plates measure 8" inches (diameter)  and the bread and butter plates measure 6.25" inches (diameter).
