{HISTORY}

Just like the quote above from German writer Johann Goethe, this bowl of roses has cultivated close to 100 years of love and story. Although it is unmarked as to a definitive maker, it most likely was born in Germany during the 1920's, as it is very similar in style to other Bavarian-made dishes of that time period. 

A beauty from the beginning, it features art deco style embossing, iridescent peach and celery shaded lustreware, and a pink floral rose bouquet that recalls all the glory of a summer garden. Over time, new details have been added in the form of delicate crazing lines and pale staining. These age appropriate characteristics suggest years of love, use, pride and appreciation - perhaps even travel and adventure, as it made its way from a pottery in 20th century Europe to a present day kitchen shop in the American South. Isn't it fun to wonder all about it - the past decades lived where and with whom?

{CONDITION}

In lovely, almost antique condition. Contains no cracks. One small chip (about 1/4" inch in size) near rim. Some minor rub marks on center floral imagery. Please see photos.
