{HISTORY}

Pansies throughout history have always symbolized love, admiration and thoughtfulness, so it is no wonder that they would be an ideal decoration for a pretty flower vase. This one, most likely made in Germany around the turn of the 20th century features green lustreware, a flurry of gold floral transferware and a gorgeous bouquet of handpainted pansies. Shiny, delicate and tall, it is both a functional container and a beautiful art piece containing an array of colors ideal for cottage interiors.

Dazzling from every angle, the gold falling flowers are scattered all the way around the vase offering plenty of styling options, while its tall size and heavy constitution (almost 2lbs) allows for longer stemmed bouquets and heavier blooms.  Although the maker and the pattern are unidentified, it is very similar in aesthetic, weight and glazing to turn of the century Victorian platters, which makes it an ideal companion for kitchen display and use. Shades include celery green, salmon pink, avocado, lavender, mint green, tangerine, purple, sage and blush.

In gorgeous condition. No chips or cracks. Lots of lovely crazing. Minor light staining on the inside at bottom.
