Those are a few people and places that share both names in common. That makes this vintage lithograph an everyman among paintings and, aficionados alike.
Printed around the 1960's by the Arthur Kaplan Company, a New York City based poster shop founded in the 1950's, this painting portrays a classic nautical scene of a sailboat at rest in a rocky inlet. Its semi-impressionistic style and muted color palette make it feel both old world but also slightly modern which is why it has aged so gracefully among a long stretch of decades.
