{HISTORY}

Petite in size but packed full of imagery, we have seen these cups referred to as paint pots, tea cups and soba noodle cups. Most likely a testament to the diversity of uses that they offer, we'd like to add one more use to that list too - mini plant pots.

Glazed on both the interior and the exterior, these shiny, thick-walled porcelain cups are beautiful in design with an interior band of scallops and swags and an exterior scene of mountains, boats, houses, trees and repetitive geometric patterns. Their design is reminiscent to the iconic blue Willow pattern making them fun and complimentary additions to any blue and white dishware lovers collection. 

Certainly, there is a plethora of different ways you could incorporate them into your space, but we really love them best as decorative planters for your indoor garden.  More stylish than a plastic pot, they ensure that your surfaces will stay dry nad free of water ring marks and they'll give your already pretty plants just a little extra flair. 

Marked only on the bottom with an almost illegible Japan mark, these most likely date to somewhere between the early 1900s and the 1930s.

{CONDITION}

In lovely antique condition, these cups contain no chips or cracks. One cup is slightly taller than the other by about 1/4" inch and also heavier. One pot weighs 3.6 oz, the other 4.4 oz. The glaze is very shiny both on the interior and exterior of each cup. 

{SIZE}

One cup measures 2.5" inches in height and the other measures 2.25" inches in height. . Both have a diameter of 2.75" inches. together these cups weigh 8 oz.
