{HISTORY}

This antique pine wood crate was made sometime around the early 1900's. It was constructed with hand-forged flat head nails and features the loveliest of weathered wood grains, worn smooth over time. Highlighting all the nicks and scratches and scuff marks that only an authentic 100 year old box could accumulate, this wonderful marvel was discovered among a collection of antique French furniture and dishware. 

A pre-cursor to modern-day cardboard, wood boxes such as this were used for all sorts of purposes from transporting goods to store display to household organization and farm management. Did this handsome helper cross the ocean from France to America carrying items of import? Maybe! Although there's really no way to tell as it contains no identifying mars as to country or continent. That's okay though. It's story lies in your imagination and in the weathered whisperings settled deep inside the wood.
