Antique Schwarzenhammer Porcelain Floral Creamer circa 1910-1923 by Schumann & Schreider
{HISTORY}
Made by Schumann & Schreider Porcelain in Schwarzenhammer Bavaria, between 1910 and 1923, just a few years after the pottery first opened, this antique creamer features a delicate combination of pastel colors, pintuck-style pleating, and embossed dots.
Pretty from all angles, the front and back of this creamer each contain different arrangments of roses and forget-me-nots in shades of ice pink, sage, mint, lavender, spring green, raspberry, pale blue, and dove grey. Given this range of color palettes, its an easy companion for inclusion in mix-and-match floral sets or a dynamic standalone if you wanted to pair it with an all-white-tea-service set.
Not an exclusie pattern to Schumann and Schreider, these roses can be found on other German pottery pieces too, making it a fun collecting challenge to amass a unique set comprised of pieces from several makers.
Here in the Vintage Kitchen, we use antique creamers for all sorts of purposes beyond table/ tray service including flower vases, mini watering cans for indoor plants, and holders for pens, pencils and paintbrushes. A pretty creamer can go a long way in bringing a little whimsy to utiliarian tasks.
