Once upon a time sugar, was only sold in apothecaries, as it was thought to be very beneficial for a number of different health ailments. Now it is in a precarious position somewhere between being a forbidden food and a inchpin ingrediant taht can turn a meal from good into great
Squat, bulbous and full of personality it is hard not to see the appeal in vintage and antique sugar bowls. Here in the Vintage Kitchen, we like to use them as storage containers, planters and refrigerator jars for homemade spa treatments. This antique Noritake Nippon sugar jar is from the 1920's. It was made in Japan by the Morimura Brothers who founded one of the finest dishware companies in the world. In keeping with Noritake's reputation for exquisite artistry, and award-winning craftsmanship, this sugar bowl is a true beauty. Handpainted with delicate roses and striped bands, its simple style and neutral color palette allow it to easily blend in with your existing collection or outside of the box intentions.
