I'd rather have roses on my table then diamonds on my neck. Emma Goldman

{HISTORY}

Made by Crown Pottery Company in Evanston, IN somewhere between the 1890's-early 1900's, this antique ironstone platter features swags of flowers in spring green, pink and gold. The Potteries was started by an English immigrant who moved to Indiana in the 1880's. Unfortunately, he died just a couple of years into business leaving Crown Pottery to shuffle between a few different owners before it merged in the 1890's with Illinois-based Peoria Pottery Company, producing ironstone and graniteware until the 1950's.

In addition to serving pieces, vintage and antique platters make great wall hangings. This one in particular is lovely because of its cheerful, bright colors and shiny glaze.
