{HISTORY}

Beloved 19th and 20th-century children's book author, Frances Trego Montgomery (1858-1925) was the writer of a large series of stories centered around the life and times of Billy Whiskers - an adventurous farm goat. Beloved by children for generations, her Billy series included 30 books in total. Billy Whisker's Kidnapped is number 11 in the series, tucked in between Billy Whisker's Vacation (10) and Billy Whisker's Kids (12). As you might imagine, it involves a kidnapping on the farm and in a riveting 187 pages delights readers with an adventuresome tale. Published in 1910, it bears a beautifully illustrated cover with gold lettering and a golden Billy butting his head against the gate. A captivating tale for tea-time, adults, and well as kids will be charmed by this book and by Billy himself. It was a favorite book series of John F. Kennedy, which goes to show how it stands up to the testament of time.  Classic in nature, Billy resounds whether it is 1910, 1950 or 2022.

{CONDITION}

Considering this book is 108 years old it is in lovely condition. All the pages are intact and the spine is tight. A previous owners name is written on the inside cover. There is a slight bend to the back of the book (please see photo) and foxing to the interior endpapers. There is a small pen scribble on the back end paper along with a name and address handwritten in very faint pencil.
