Vintage Pink Linen Hemstitched Polka Dot Tablecloth - 56 x 72
There are few things so pleasant as a picnic eaten in perfect comfort. W. Somerset Maugham
Dotty in all the best ways, this vintage pink linen tablecloth is a marvel in craftsmanship. It's a talented sewer who can master the art of hemstitching in linear fashion, but to embark on this form of detailed threadwork in circular dot formation is a whole new layer of skill altogether.
This tablecloth features 100 hemstitched polka dots each measuring 2" inches x 2" inches, in two groups. An outer border of 66 dots runs around the entire edge of the table cloth and an inner border of 34 dots runs in rectangular fashion around the center part of the tablecloth. Made of soft and silky linen that drapes beautifully, its pink hue is closest to pale bubblegum, a shade that works surprisingly well with a variety of colors. It is bright enough to add a pop of color to your table but also calm enough to complement other bright shades for interesting color possibilities and tablescape arrangements.
Here in the Vintage Kitchen we always like to incorporate big tablecloths like this into our picnic activities as well. They make great picnic blankets thanks to the size and the softness of the fabric. A matching set of eight dotty dinner napkins is also available in the shop here if you are looking for a complete set.
