{HISTORY}

An apron is so indispensable in the kitchen it's care and function is practically overlooked in every cookbook ever written. Perhaps throughout time, it is has just been assumed that, of course, you have at least one and wear it always as you are cooking and cleaning and arranging in order to protect your clothes underneath. That being said, there are a huge variety of apron styles that have been designed across the centuries from large full body smocks to cute half aprons like this one.

Handmade, it is a beauty of an apron with green and white printed fabric, lace trim, green stitching and a pretty little pocket all accented by pintucks around the waist and the softest, sheerest cotton cloth you can imagine. In absolutely gorgeous condition, most likely, this apron was not worn during the nitty gritty stage of cooking when soup was sloshing on the stove or juicy tomatoes were being sliced or sausages were being fried in a pan. Most likely this was a second apron, put on after all the messy sides of cooking were done for tasks like setting the table, serving the food, ans attending to last minute details before the guests arrived. It was a kitchen worker too, just of lighter stuff. Lucky for us!

{CONDITION}

In lovely, very clean vintage condition with no spots, stains or pulled threads. There are two small holes in the lace edging on the bottom right corner of the apron as well as one tiny tear in the green fabric section in that same vicinity. These flaws are barely noticeable and each measure less than 1/8" inch in size. Please see photos.

Since this is a handmade apron, there is of course no general generic sizing, but will fit a small or medium frame. To ensure accurate fitting please compare your favorite apron at home to this measurements...(all taken while apron was lying flat)
