Weighing in at just under 2 lbs., this heavy cast iron thermometer features a Celsius temperature gauge adorned with a handsome rooster. The color of autumn sunsets and rusty metal, this beautiful weather station was most likely made in Europe or the UK, where Celsius temperature readings rule the day. 

Throughout history, especially in Europe, chickens and roosters have symbolized bravery, pride, fertility, protection, prosperity, and motherhood, making this little bird a fun decorative piece as well as a useful tool. It's also a helpful addition to garden sheds, greenhouses, potting stations, and porches, or any area where you'd like to keep track of the temperature, either indoors or out. 

While we don't know specifically who made this charmer since it is unmarked as to maker or manufacturer, and we could find no other exact examples, we do know that it is in working condition. {CONDITION}

In beautiful antique condition, this temperature gauge contains no chips, cracks, or scratches. The gauge is in accurate working condition. It hangs securely on the wall simply by using a nail placed in the area between the rooster's legs, or it can be propped against the wall on a shelf, cupboard or counter. The glass thermometer is in strong and sturdy shape and securely attached to the cast-iron mount.
