After you , Madame...

{HISTORY}

A pup is a pup of course unless you are a fanciful working dog like this vintage cast iron doorstop. Then you are magic. This guy comes with quite a glaring malformation - a broken tail gone missing. But don't let that alarm you at all. He's quite content with being rid of that whippy wappy excitement. And being sans tails has not affected his abilities to hold the door open (as all gentlemen should) in the slightest.

Most doorstops come with a singular job in mind - to keep an old door in an old house open for people to easily pass through. This guy, thanks to his missing appendage can offer even more. The area where his tail is not is the perfect space and size for an air plant to make a little home. What could be better? A doorstop and a plant holder and a sweet little fox terrier. Fun and functional and faithful. All in one.

Dating to the 1930s, this fox terrier was made by Hubley in Lancaster, PA and originally came with a leather collar and a leash. Hubley made all sorts of fun toys and household goods, designed with flair and an extra dose of charm.

You know this pup had some spectacular adventures in his day, hence the missing tail, but he's still as cute as can be and is so ready to hold the door for all that visit the kitchen. After you, madame.
