Vintage Round Floral & Filigree Platter - Hibiscus Roses & Tulips
Even though this vintage platter is a mystery as to its maker and pattern name, this vintage charmer triumphantly puts the capital H in hospitality. Featuring a welcoming bouquet of summer flowers including roses, tulips, and hibiscus, this platter also features beautiful gold filigree around the rim with a lattice-like pineapple design and an embossed scalloped edge containing a wave-like pattern.
Since pineapples are the universal symbol of hospitable good cheer, nothing seems more appropriate for a dish design than a big platter piled high with food ready to be consumed by hungry house guests.
We love the tropical vibe of this plate so much. Here in the Vintage Kitchen, it reminds us of the elegant aesthetic of the Bahamas where dining is both a beautiful art and a colorful experience. It also inspires lots of different types of foods from grilled meats to fruity desserts and everything in-between. Its large size also makes it dual-purpose, offering plenty of possibilities for use as a drink tray (think tropical tiki!), a server for hors d'oeuvres and party apps, and also a decorative wall hanging. Chop up the coconuts, whip up the mojitos, pile up this platter with something pretty... the party is ready to get started with this one in so many ways!
