{HISTORY}
Carrying you all the way from early fall fruit season to the Thanksgiving holiday, this pair of vintage hand-colored dinner plates is just the ticket to creating warm and cozy autumn mealtimes. Hand-colored in shades of spring green, pink, cherry and chocolate, this Harvest Time pattern was made by Johnson Bros in Staffordshire England from the 1950s-1970s.
As one of the most successful English potteries, in business from 1890-2015, Johnson Brothers, specialized in exporting dishware to the American market, Exceptionally adept at tapping into the American mindset, unlike other English potteries that catered to English sensibilities, Johnson Brothers followed the buying trends and styles of American consumers. The cozy seasonality of the Harvest Time pattern was so appealing to shoppers when it debuted in 1953 in department stores and china shops across the country, that it became a popular choice for tableware stretching the entirety of the Autumn season leading up to the big Turkey Day meal itself.
Artistic, colorful, and beautifully designed, these plates are a gorgeous addition to any fall foliage table and autumnal soiree.
