{HISTORY}

Although it has a very 1930s/Art Deco vibe, Mikasa's Richelieu pattern actually debuted in 1984. It features the prettiest color palette of dove grey and pale beige. Edged in gold around the rim, they also sport swags of pink and blue rose bouquets and a lacy pattern of dots, scallops, stripes, and leaves. 

A gorgeous set for autumn and winter soups, we can imagine quite a few already... Pumpkin Soup, Lobster Bisque, Italian Risotto, Butternut Squash Stew, French Onion Soup, Coconut Curry, Polish Mushroom... we just love when a dish inspires dinner! 

Made in Japan by Mikasa, these four have traveled the decades beautifully.  That's in part to the excellent care they've received over their lifetime, but also in part to the wonderful craftsmanship of the Mikasa brand.

Founded by California-born, George Aratani (1917-2013) in the 1950s, Mikasa began as an importer of Japanese dishware to America. Known for their fashionable designs, suburb quality, and convenient sales shops located within stores like Macy's and Bloomingdales, Mikasa dishware was an immediate success with mainstream mid-century America. Still going strong today, Mikasa has been a part of making meals memorable for the past 70 years.

In absolutely beautiful condition. These bowls contain no chips, cracks, spots or staining. The gold striping is shiny and bright on each bowl. Please see photos.
