{HISTORY}

Every once in awhile here in the Vintage Kitchen shop, we encounter a vintage item that seems impossibly quiet when it comes to deciphering the true biography of maker and manufacture.  Such is the case with this pretty set of 5 matching demitasse cups.

Positively Spring-like, their green ivy-like border, bright white bodies and gold detailing are a beautiful combination of elegance and simplicity. The upturned angle of the handle, a unique and intriguing feature, and the curly gold and green design lend themselves to older antique style details but the cups large size (4oz capacity) lends itself to more mid-century modern appeal.   

Unmarked on the bottom, they are a mystery has far as correctly identifying a maker, but we do know that they spent some significant time in the sea-surrounded state of Florida amidst the sunshine and gentle sway of palm trees. That provides you with just a smidgen of a hint as far as past adventures in the life of these five, and opens up a whole world of possibility for your imagination. As coffee break companions, they would have been privy to a wealth of interesting conversations. It is fun to imagine what might have been discussed, and who was discussing them. Newsy topics of the day, perhaps or family stories, advice or admissions, confessions or courtesies... the possibilities are intriguing indeed!

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition. Some delicate crazing lines a ppear on two of the cups. Two cups also contain very light staining (so light they can barely be seen in photos). One tiny light rub mark on each gold handle (most likely from use or hanging hooks). No chips or cracks.

{SIZE}

Each cup measures 3 1/8" inches (height) 2 1/2" inches (diameter). Holds 4 oz. of liquid.

{STYLE IDEA}

A beautiful set for espresso, half cups of coffee, your favorite warm beverage or for use as petite hors d'oeuvres cups for soups, dips or mini desserts, there a host of uses for these helpers when it comes to serving and preparing food.  Pair them with other green, white and gold dishes for beautiful table display and presentation.
