{HISTORY}

Made in Germany between 1949-1955, this vintage porcelain tray features a colorful garden of big, bold, bright, beautiful roses in shades of raspberry and pink. 

Marked with the emerald green Cico mark, there isn't much information on this company, which makes this tray all the more interesting as far as origin stories go.  Possibly Cico could have been a dishware manufacturer in Germany who collaborated with other porcelain makers in Baviaria. They may have been a Bavarian decorating house that purchased blank porcelain pieces and then added their own artistic designs.  Or they could have been an import company of German porcelain to the US, marking pieces with their own brand and the country of origin in which they were produced. 

For all the mystery behind the Cico brand, the tray itself is very apparent in its high quality of craftsmanship.  Exquisite in floral design, this tray also boasts gold handles and a stylish rectangular shape that is both elegant and practical. Possibly this could have been made for use as a vanity tray in a bathroom, dressing area or bedroom, but we love it in the kitchen as a cocktail tray, serving platter, or wall decor piece. 

Colors include butter yellow, pale pink, raspberry, sage, celadon, mint and blueberry against bright white porcelain. Ideally sized for small spaces or serving needs, this tray comfortably fits four glasses, making it a lovely choice for wine, champagne or cocktail service.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition, this tray features no chips, cracks or staining. The gold on the handles is wearing a bit due to age and use. The transferware is crisp, clear and bright. Please see photos.
