{HISTORY}

There's a reason why Hutschenreuther porcelain was considered among the best dishware right up there with Haviland Limoges and Wedgwood.

Beautifully made with exquisite detail and elegant patterns, Hutschenreuther porcelain was a family-run business passed down from artist father to artist son with the help of the best ceramic designers available throughout Europe.

Founded in 1814 by Magnus Hutschenreuther, when the pottery first opened Magnus set the bar high for fine craftsmanship thanks to the talented pool of ceramic artists that he plucked from all over Europe. Bringing the best to Bavaria meant producing dishes that were of the highest quality and the most beautiful design aesthetics, quickly building a reputation for fine dishware of excellent composition.

By the time, Magnus' son, Lorenz took over the business some forty years later, he continued in his father's strive for excellence, only in that where his father selected individual designers to work for the pottery, Lorenz started acquiring entire porcelain manufacturers of equal skill and ability to increase production and grow the Hutschenreuther brand.

What resulted was Hutschenreuther's longstanding reputation for beauty, craftsmanship and unparalleled design in the porcelain industry. Purchased by fellow luxury German porcelain brand, Rosenthal in 2000, Hutschenreuther dinnerware is still in production today offering the same level of elegance, craftsmanship and sophisticated design it has been known for the past 200 years,

This set of antique Hutschenreuther salad and dessert plates is a hard-to-find pattern, especially when it comes to multiple pieces in a set. Featuring handpainted pink flowers nestled into a black and gold border and adorned with gold dots, spring green leaves, and gold filigree.  Made between 1857-1920, this set is comprised of eight salad plates and two dessert plates. With its dramatoc black stripe and tropical pink and green floral trim, it is just perfect for this time of year as the darker colors of the winter landscape bloom into bright shades of spring.

Eyecatching and elegant, this pattern looks great when mixed and matched with other similar pieces in the same color palette and it looks especially stunning when paired with a simple arrangement of mismatched antique gold and white dishware.
