From James Beard to all pasta lovers... All my favorite recipes - Everything you need to know about making and causing all kinds of pasta from macaroni and tortellini to Chinese cellophane noodles...

{HISTORY}

Published in 1983, this is James Beard's compilation of favorite pasta recipes created, collected and fine-tuned over a lifetime. Published just two years before his death, this cookbook is his swan song to a career filled with delicious food, gracious hospitality, thoughtful instruction and engaging stories.

In the introduction, James will be the first to tell you that this is not an Italian cookbook. It is full of pasta dishes from all parts of the globe and even includes desserts made with macaroni and noodles. It features both homemade pasta recipes and store-bought varieties. It includes slow weekend dinners and quick weekday meals. Most recipes serve between 4-8 people, so you can cook for a crowd or enjoy leftovers for a few days after.

Written during pasta's halycon days (the 1980s), when Americans averaged 13 pounds per person per year, this cookbook highlights the big variety of meals that can be obtained from one hearty staple. There are easy recipes with just a few ingredients that are simple to prepare and there are more exotic recipes like a sauce of pureed frog legs for seasoned cooks looking for something fresh and creative.  All in all, this is an ideal cookbook for anyone who loves pasta, just like JB did, in all its shapes, forms and expressions.
