Vintage Winking Dog Figurine circa 1950s 1960s Japan
Maybe that's what life is... a wink of the eye and winking stars. Jack Kerouac
{HISTORY}
Meet Fifi. She's the little French puppy who's ready to encourage all your big gourmand ideas. Charming her way into the kitchen from midcentury Japan, she's part of a troop of wide-eyed animals that have become big collector's items these days.
Fifi is especially fun because she's a rarity and a winker, two things that bring absolute joy to the kitchen. At one point Fifi may have come with a traveling companion but for now she's a single pup enjoying every single one of her adventures.
Some other figurines that came in the same style as Fifi back in the 1950s and 1960s were made into salt and pepper shakers or came in graduated sizes from small to large. Fifi is none of those. She's petite and not into seasoning food. She just simply wants to add a little joie de vivre to your space, which she wholeheartedly promises to do in the simplest and sweetest way.
