{HISTORY}

Even though this vintage cake decorating book was first published in 1979, its roots go way back to Chicago in the 1920's. That's the decade when the Wilton School of Cake Decorating was born with a mission to teach pastry chefs and home bakers the beautiful art of confectionary design. Still in operation today, the school was an immediate success, churning out talented cake decorators from around the world. The Wilton family also sold tools, forms, fabrics and embellishments for unique cake designs which helped expand their brand and promote their commitment to building aesthetically pleasing cakes. Bakery books, how-to manuals and decorating diy guides soon followed, which brings us to this book Discover the Fun of Cake Decorating, edited by Eugene and Marilynn Sullivan for Wilton Enterprises. 

First published in 1979, this is the January 1991 edition. Although its the ninth printing it still retains the photography and cake styles of the 1970s, which is a fun peek into the world of vintage cake design and provides dozens of inspiring examples. As a complete step-by-step manual, it teaches novice bakers the art of cake decorating gradually, as each chapter slowly increases in difficulty. By the end of the book, you'll have enough knowledge and skill to decorate a tiered wedding cake - the ultimate project for any baker!

In great vintage condition. Corners and edges are scuffed a bit. Interior pages are clean, bright and unmarked. Spine is tight and all pages are intact.
