Vintage Southern Magnolia Botanical Print -1950's Wild Flowers of America Bookplate
One of the most beautiful trees in the South, every aspect of the Magnolia is lovely. From their long leaves, big flowers, perfumed scent and bright red seeds, they are gorgeous year-round stunners in all seasons. A menagerie of delight for both people and animals, turkeys, opossums, squirrels and quail love to eat magnolia seeds, beetles help pollinate the flowers, and the wood can be harvested to make furniture.
{HISTORY}
This vintage two-sided botanical print was rescued from the book, Wild Flowers of America published in 1953. Containing dozens of watercolor portraits painted by Mary Vaux Walcott (1860-1940) in the 1920's, the large folio-sized book featured some of the most common and exotic flowers that graced our mid-century American landscape. From Alaska to Maine, Canada to Mexico and each and every state in-between, a gorgeous array of color and unique botanicals were represented to encapsulate the collective beauty of our stunning continent. The book was in a fretfully destructive state, but many prints were able to be salvaged, so look for others in the shop. These make wonderful wall collages when paired together in similar color groups or, if you are limited on wall space, one or two add a cheerful touch to any area
that needs a bit of beauty.

{STYLE IDEA}
Styling options abound here! You can frame a batch of them and hang them collage style, or select one or a few and tack them to your wall for a more casual look. Because they are two-sided, they also look great in floating frames that can then be used as partial screens or transition pieces between rooms. To gather more ideas visit this spot on Pinterest.
