{HISTORY}

Gorgeous in all their green and white glory, this set of matching porcelain cups and saucers was made by Syunzan and feature a white lily flower artistically arranged on both the plates and cups. Rare in pattern, shape, and maker we searched high and low for information on the pottery and the decade that produced these beauties but drew blanks in all directions.

Most likely made in Japan, perhaps around the 1950s, the airbrushed style design of the lilies and leaves, combined with the gold detailing around the rim and base provides a stunning aesthetic that is both reminiscent of 1920s style Bavarian porcelain as well as midcentury tropical tiki ware and sophisticated 20th century Noritake design.

With hues of lime rind, gold, soft grey, spring green, and bright white, these cups naturally suggest spring with their vibrant palette. but really they would look lovely year-round, offering a different aesthetic for each season/holiday. 

The only devastating thing about these cups and saucers is that there is not a whole entire dinner service in this pretty pattern to go along with them. What a beauty that sight would be!

There are five matching cups and saucers and three extra saucers available. Unlike more traditional designs, these saucers barely have an inner rim impression, so they look more like small plates. {CONDITION}

In beautiful vintage condition. There are no chips, cracks or stains. The gold around the teacup rim is wearing in some spots on some cups.

Each cup measures 4" inches in diameter. Each saucer measures 6.25" inches in diameter. Together each cup and saucer weighs 10 oz.
