{HISTORY}

Although unmarked as to maker and manufacturer, this antique ironstone wash basin most likely hailed from England around the turn of the 20th century. Its beautiful graduated green and white shading is highlighted by embossing detail and pretty purple chrysanthemum flowers. At one point there was also probably a matching pitcher that sat nestled inside ready to clean the hands and face of its owner. Somewhere along its 100+ year journey, the two-piece washing station separated and this pretty basin navigated the world by its itself. You can tell there was some exciting adventures by the small surface chip and the three-sided surface crack in the base, but worry not, this bowl is tough and those situations did not affect the overall constitution of this bowl. It still holds water, without leaking, and it still looks gorgeous, maybe even better than the day it was made, because like people flaws only make things more interesting.

{CONDITION}

Please see photos for condition marks. As stated above there is a small surface chip in the bottom of the basin, which does not affect the bowls ability to hold water. There is a small half circle surface crack at the bottom of the basin which is smooth to the touch and does not affect the bowl's abilities in any way. Crazing marks throughout on both sides.
