{HISTORY}

Here it is! If you ever imagined what apartment life was like in the 1930's, it would look like this. At least in the dishware department. Meet the penthouse pattern made by Edwin Knowles China Company in the 1930's. This pattern features a collection of pretty flower pots on a terraced patio in shades of orange, plum, yellow, teal and spring green. 

Part of Edwin Knowles' Yorktown shaped pottery mold , the Penthouse pattern is really hard to find these days. This is an Oven Bake bowl which was able to go from fridge to oven to table. It might have been part of a refrigerator set or it could have been part of a series of graduated mixing bowls. Either way, it's a really functional size, especially for small apartment (or penthouse!) sized spaces. Great for whipping up eggs, enjoying a bowl of cereal or mixing together a small batch of something homemade, this little charmer will brighten your day in so many ways.

{CONDITION}

In lovely vintage condition. Lots of wonderful crazing. Some rub marks to the red rim. There are two, tiny, old surface chips on the bottom of bowl near the bake oven stamp (please see photos). These are insignificant and do not affect the use of the bowl in any way.  Imagery is crisp and clear.
