{HISTORY}

It makes complete sense that a creative task like cutting and assembling paper airplanes  would be made available by a creative publishing firm.

Founded in the early 1940s by Hayward and Blanche Cirker, Dover Publications had a long, unexpected publishing run throughout the 20th century. Focusing on publishing obscure out-of-print titles and public domain material in its founding years, Dover became known for publishing books revolving around an eclectic list of topics mostly spurred by curiosity in the founders and staff. Known for their high-quality printing and affordable prices, there was something for everyone in Dover's canon.

For the paper craft enthusiast, Dover provided a windfall of captivating subjects to work and play with from historic paper villages to paper dolls, airplanes to animals, and everything in between,  imaginations were alight with projects and possibilities. 

Cut & Assemble Paper Airplanes That Fly was published in 1982. Designed by Arthur Baker, it features eight different full-color airplane models printed on thick card stock. Ready to build at a moment's notice, the only materials required beyond this book are scissors, glue, paper clips, a pencil, a ruler, tape, a paintbrush, and a penny for each plane.

A fun craft project to while away a winter afternoon, these eight airplanes are designed to fly out of doors once finished. So cute for table decorations for a birthday party or a hanging mobile of sorts above a kid's table, they offer all sorts of indoor and outdoor joy. In addition to a craft activity,  these paper airplanes also offer a bit of whimsical delight when it comes to decorating too.
