Educating farmers since 1877, Farm Journal Magazine has been a leader in agriculture journalism for over 140 years. Focusing on all aspects of farm life from animal welfare to science and technology to the joys and challenges of the country lifestyle, this go-to publication kept families informed and updated on all the latest news.

In 1968, Farm Journal published their Cooking for Company cookbook which featured the best of country hospitality. Foods to feed a crowd, festive party fare and recipes ideally suited for visiting house guests mingle with expert tips on garnishing, menu planning, and etiquette all to showcase the conviviality, warmth and thoughtfulness centered around farm life and table. What is especially fun about this cookbook is its emphasis on visitors coming to experience the joy of country life.  Imagine bountiful feasts, homegrown vegetables, and from-scratch baked goods all inspired by nature and pastoral landscapes. Also, many recipes are sized for both large and small gatherings so that cooks can make iced tea for fifty just as easily as for five.

There are recipes for big gatherings (Swedish meatballs for 300!), recipes for desserts that travel well (ideal for neighborhood potlucks and picnics), buffet-style sides, big roasts, wild game suppers, prize-winning desserts and a bevy of hearty delights for big appetites including casseroles, soups and cakes.

This cookbook is in great vintage shape. The pages are bright and clean. The dust jacket is fully intact as well as the spine. There is wite-out on the front endpaper covering up a previous owner's name and the date of December 19 written below that. Please see photos.
