{HISTORY}

Homer Laughlin, the king of American potteries has been manufacturing dishware since 1871. This little delight of a platter was made between 1908 and 1928, well into the production life of the Homer Laughlin and their innate ability to understand the style and aesthetic that American buyers loved best. 

This platter features the Hudson line - a large umbrella of a series containing a variety of patterns that was modeled after elegant French dinnerware. This platter features big bunches of pink cottage roses in contrasting shades of raspberry and bubble gum with celery green leaves and tiny white and grey flowers. The rim is scalloped with lacy embossing and a shabby chic gold edge, now worn in some spots, adds a hint of shabby chic wear. 

Bright, colorful, and delightfully pretty, this is one of those platters that looks just as lovely displayed on the wall as it does on the table. Surprisingly, it works well with both summer and winter decor too. {CONDITION}

In beautiful antique condition. There are chips, cracks or staining. The glaze is shiny and bright and the floral transferware is crisp and clear. The gold edge has worn in many spots around the platter as expected with age. Please see photos.
