Oh my. A chamber pot in the kitchen? You bet! While antique chamber pots were more accustomed to be seen in bedrooms up until the last century, they actually are very helpful in the modern kitchen. Repurposed into scrap bowls, cleaning buckets and compost containers, there is a definite place for them that is both useful and stylish. 

In an ongoing effort to go plastic-free, chamber pots are the perfect vessel to hold onto the daily kitchen scraps that are ideal food for your backyard critters (chickens & pigs), or your outdoor compost heap for your garden. Much more attractive than a garbage can or plastic container, a chamber pot sits pretty on your counter offering you a handy vessel in which to discard all the pieces and peelings of daily meal prep. The lid keeps things looking neat and tidy until you empty it and the large handle makes it easy to carry outdoors and dispose of the contents. Then simply rinse it out and start again the next day. Tah-dah! Problems solved and in such a pretty way:) 

This antique chamber pot was made by John Edwards in England between 1880-1900. It features a lion's motif, with figureheads on both the lid and the handle. Light crazing throughout gives it a wonderful antique patina. 

If you aren't one for composting or kitchen scraping then a chamber pot such as this also makes a great catchall for cleaning products under the sink and small wash jobs.

{CONDITION}

In beautiful antique condition. This chamber pot is bright in color and very clean on the inside. There is a chip on the head of one of the lions on the lid (please see photos), but it does not affect the use of the lid handle in anyway. There are also 3 small chips on the underside of the rim on the lid.
