Made by Edwin Knowles in 1948, this pattern is called Navarre and features a big bouquet of colorful blooms that include roses, forget-me-nots, and strawflowers. Designed in the Puritan shape, these plates are also rimmed with gold and contain an embossed edge that mirrors the outline of a flower petal.

Based in West Virginia from 1900-1963, Edwin M. Knowles made some of the prettiest dishware in the country with patterns that were colorful, feminine, and visually striking. These plates were no exception. Colors include pink, lavender, butter, tangerine, watermelon green, magenta, sage, periwinkle, and bluebell.

So pretty for spring and summer entertaining, garden parties, Sunday brunch, and seasonal celebrations, these four brighten the table in the most joyful of ways. In the words of John Keats... Nature is the poetry of the earth. The Navarre pattern celebrates just that - the beauty of the botanical world and all that it inspires.

{SPECIAL FEATURES}

Matching set of four bread plates

One plate contains the Edwin Knowles backstamp and date code. These plates contain no chips or cracks. The gold stripe around each rim is shiny and shimmery. One plate contains two pencil-point-sized specks, which may have been natural imperfections in the clay. These marks formed little bumps at the surface, but after close inspection with a magnifying glass, they appear to be under the glaze.
